Dilworth Real Estate

About Dilworth

Dilworth, is Charlotte, NC’s oldest streetcar suburb located between East Blvd and Uptown Charlotte.  Named after Edward Dilworth Latta who moved to Charlotte in 1876.  He took the 442 level and treeless acres and built the basic road infrastructure in a grid format with wide streets intersecting at right angles.  Dilworth at one time in the 1890's hosted a horse track, baseball stadium and streetcars. Dilworth became one of Charlotte's most developed and busy areas for housing and commerce.  This trend still continues today and homes in Dilworth are some of the most sought after properties and do not last long on the market even in tough times.

Dilworth is known for its pricey renovated bungalows, historic homes, lovely parks, churches and leafy, sidewalk-lined streets. East Boulevard forms the neighborhood’s spine, offering restaurants, pubs, trendy shops and office space within easy walking distance of nearby homes. Homes in Dilworth are typically on the high end, per square foot, but new condo development along the fringes of the area offer more affordable living in an exceptional location.  Rated as on of Charlotte's most walk-able neighborhoods as residents have easy access to parks, East Blvd with all of its shops and restaurants, its wide variety of home styles with unique architecture.

Don’t miss: the Yiasou Greek Festival at Holy Trinity Church off East Boulevard each year the first week in September.
